2tall aka Jim Coles is an artist of many faces, from DJ to turntable musician to bonafide producer, his skills have taken him a long way in a short period of time. Past releases include the first EP on Needlework Records "The Rise" feat. DJ Blakey (now 1xtra resident/dmc UK champion) and "posse- cuts", the first track of its kind featurng 13 djs representing their skills all on one track.
Moving on from that 2tall has been actively competing onstage in the UK and abroad and even online in many DJ battles since 2001, including DMC (UK finalist 2003) and World finalist with his former crew "the truesi- cians", others include the ITF battles and other local competitions. He is known as a solid figure in the scratch scene worldwide through keeping constant communication with djs from around the world.
DJ 2 Tall is also known for being heavily involved with cultural focus points such as turntable radio - the first dedicated turntablist radio show.
As a producer he released the debut album "Shifting Tides" in March 2005 as a testament to his ability not only to be nice on the turntables but on the boards too. Past DJ appearances include competitions and club nights in Paris, Brussels, Miami, LA, Munich, and of course around the UK.
Radio wise he performed live at the John Peel show as part of the DMC special in 2003 and again in 2004 for Radio 1, his DJ and studio mixes have been aired on XM radio in Washington, samurai in Japan, and also from various around the UK.
