MC Verse

After years of graft on the underground circuit it was Verse’s display at this year’s Winter Music Conference in Miami that really caught the eye of the scene, spitting his lyrics at just about every drum&bass event on show, including his memorable performances with Bad Company @ The Ultra Festival, Ed Rush & Optical @ Global Gathering and Andy C @ Viram.

So what’s next for Verse, over the next year, don’t be surprised if you hear him making the soldiers march one night, fronting Suv’s live band another night, rapping with the Fifth Element crew another night, and singing over DKay and Epsilon’s follow up to the smash hit ‘Barcelona’ throughout the summer on Radio 1. What’s more, Verse isn’t just putting his lyrics and rhymes over these projects; he’s writing and producing on most of them too. Albeit a long learning curve, with guidance from the likes of pioneers Dom&Roland and Bad Company, Verse’s productions have recently gone from strength to strength. As it stands in 2004 Verse has tunes, both hip-hop and drum&bass, scheduled for inclusion on the Fifth Element LP, the Renegade Hardware LP and most notably the eagerly anticipated Bad Company UK LP.

Verse has even decided to start his own imprint Crunch Recordings, for some of his own productions as well as collaborations with some of the scene's most prominent and respected producers. Crunch 001 includes 'Off The Rails' : Put together with DKay this anthem is of epic proportions. Flip is yet to be confirmed but we're told is probably going to be a solo offering.
