Originally formed in ’99 PLC are one of the country’s best and most skilled live hip hop crews, with an accomplished stage presence, ridiculous freestyles and intelligent, frenetic rhyming. Having cemented their reputation for rocking the underground they have made live appearances on the Brit Awards and toured with the Gorillaz.
PhiLife Cypher have also appeared on the THTC Channel 4 documentary 'The Power of Choice'.
After their debut album ‘Millenium Metaphors’ (Jazz Fudge) they moved to Zebra Traffic where Life released his debut album ‘Everyday Life’ and they released the group album ‘Higher Forces’ in 2003.
PhiLife Cypher still live on the housing estate in Luton where they met. They have become involved in the local Marsh Farm Housing Estate Community Project and work with local schools (with their video ‘Cracklife’) depicting the very real consequences of using hard drugs
