Reveal
Reveal
Reveal came into the Hip Hop scene at a young age with all guns blazing, gaining notoriety on the Freestyle/ Battle circuit, most memorably defeating former Rawkus signee Shabaam Sahdeeq in an impromptu backstage freestyle battle which was broadcast on MTV Base. Through similar events, Reveal earned a reputation as an MC not to be taken lightly.
This was affirmed when Reveal defeated the likes of Infinite Livez, Mic Assassin and Chester P in a battle of epic proportions to claim the title of Champion at the infamous F.K.O RAW battle of 2000.
From this solid base, Reveal grew as an artist, providing a social commentary to the world he saw around him. He was born in Iran but grew up in inner city London. The contrast between these worlds has provided Reveal with a different perspective to the average rapper. His ability to create thought-provoking songs has solidified his versatility.
In 2002, Reveal formed the Poisonous Poets alongside long time partners in rhyme Therapist, Doc Brown and Tony Dangerous. Having individually risen as four of the hungriest rappers in London, the Poets eventually came together as polished artists in 2002 with the potential to change the game.
That same year saw their ill fated deal with major international players BMG, where the Poets spent 10 months recording material for an album that was never granted the light of day.
In true Hip Hop fashion, Double P refused to be held back and released a selection of their BMG work in a mixtape format in early 2003. Latest additions to the Poets are in-house producer DJ Snips and rappers Lowkey and Stylah.
Along the way, Reveal has recorded with the Best of British including Harry Love, Taskforce, Out Da Ville, Moorish Delta, TerraFirma, Mud Fam and MCD, as well as performing alongside some of the USA’s finest such as Outsidaz, De La Soul and Busta Rhymes. Without a mainstream release, Reveal has still managed to have a major influence on the UK scene and remains amongst the most respected in the game.
