Addictive TV are audio video remixers, they sample both audio and video clips to build their music. 

So for a mammoth sampling session, we decided to ask the Addictive TV guys to trawl through our archive of 14 years of THTC clips and videos, which they sampled to pieces, then glued all the little bits they found together and created this masterpiece! It can be easy to fall into the trap of trying to pigeonhole this eclectic artist’s style as reggae-soul.

However, scratch beneath the surface and there are hidden depths to the chart-topping Natty who effortlessly fuses many genres and vibes into a melting pot of sounds which can be described as the gritty yet uplifting soundtrack to many young people’s lives growing up in the UK today.

Foreign Beggars

Foreign Beggars are a critically acclaimed Rap, Grime and Dubstep group based in London, UK.

The group consists of MCs Orifice Vulgatron and Metropolis, producer Dag Nabbit and DJ Nonames. Foreign Beggars are renowned for their eclectic and energetic live shows.

Lowkey

Lowkey is a musician, poet, playwright and political activist of English and Iraqi descent. He first came to fame through a series of mixtapes he released before he was 18. He would return in 2008 with wider music coverage, featured on BBC Radio and appearing at various festivals and concerts in the build up to his first solo album.

On 17 April 2012, Lowkey officially put his musical career on hiatus to "concentrate on my studies".

Newton Faulkner

Singer / Songwriter Newton Faulkner has supported THTC for about 6 years, along with his brother Toby who is one part of a hip hop trio from Brighton called Ruderalis. Much love and respect goes out to The Faulkners for their unwavering support of THTC and ethical fashion.

THTC also produced an organic t-shirt with Newton for his tour, which was designed by Herse.

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran is an English singer/songwriter, beatboxer and guitarist who's eclectic blend of acoustic pop, folk, and hip-hop has been championed by everyone from the underground grime scene to American Oscar winners. His debut single 'The A Team' has now been certified Platinum.

Wu Tang Clan - (Inspectah Deck)

Inspectah Deck, is an American rapper, producer, and member of the Wu-Tang Clan. He has acquired critical praise for his intricate lyricism, and for his verses on many of the group's most revered songs.

Inspectah Deck has supported THTC since the early days and is one of THTC’s most high profile and prominent supporters.

Fliptrix - High Focus Records

Founder of UKHH stalwart High Focus Records, Fliptrix can lay claim to being one of the key players in the re-birth of a scene that lost its way ever so slightly. Running on nothing but positive vibes and a firm belief in the music, everything he has put his mind to has come good in one way or another, launching High Focus Records, establishing his own successful studio and High Focus HQ, clocking over a million hits (and counting) on his HFTV Youtube Channel, releasing of seminal albums and selling out venues.

Asian Dub Foundation

ADF are a British electronica band whose distinctive sound is a combination of hard ragga-jungle rhythms, indo-dub basslines, searing sitar-inspired guitars and ‘traditional’ sounds gleaned from their parents’ record collections, shot through with fast-chat conscious lyrics.

Cormega

Loved by the streets as well as by critics, Cormega was the rare hardcore rapper to win praise from all directions, and while he never quite crossed over like some of his New York City peers, he maintened a respectable independence over the years nonethless, self-releasing his work on the Legal Hustle label.
Born Cory Mckay,Cormega came up as part of the early-'90s Queensbridge scene that also fostered such name acts as Nas and Mobb Deep, among many others.

Jake Gosling is a Brit Award and MPG nominated producer of the year, multi time platinum selling music producer, songwriter, remixer, manager and publisher best known for his work with artists sush as Wiley, Paloma Faith, One Direction and Ed Sheeran in wich he produced and co-wrote the 5 times platinum number one album + along with the number 3 hit and platinum selling The A Team both here and in the USA hitting number 10 in the billboard chart.

BeatFox

BeatFox started making his own noise from the age of 10, getting on the nerves of his classmates and teachers, alike. Starting off as very basic clicks and throat-based sounds, these then progressed into the complex beats and rhythms of his music today.

At only 21, this beatboxer still has much more to give to the scene. His style draws upon heavy Dub basslines, Hip Hop drums, DnB tempos, animalistic sound effects and, of course, his crazy signature bird chirps. Watch this space.

Grace Savage

Grace Savage is the UK female Beatbox champion 2012. As well as being a critically acclaimed beatboxer Grace has been singing and playing guitar from an early age. For the past year she has been developing her song writing skills; unleashing an eclectic array of songs that could melt the iciest of hearts. In the summer of 2011 Grace was spotted by Producer/ Songwriter Dee Adam (Newton Faulkner/Diana Vickers/Loick Essien/Alex Hepburn) and it was there that a beautiful songwriting partnership emerged.

Dizraeli & The Small Gods

Dizraeli is a hip hop tour de force and with his band Dizraeli and the Small Gods he's played stages from the Eden Project to the West Holts stage at Glastonbury.

A passionate flag-waver for the cause of low-carbon living, in 2010 Dizraeli travelled to Egypt and back overland, gigging and collaborating with hip hop artists from Kosovo to the West Bank along the way. Reeps One

Reeps One began beatboxing at 17 and over the last four years has become internationally recognised as a leading artist of the New School Beatbox Scene. 

The purity of his skill is what places him above many and lead him to win the 2009 Vauxhall UK Beatbox Championship.

DJ JFB

DJ JFB is more than just your average DJ. Also an extremely talented turntabalist and producer, JFB started out like many other DJ's, with his humble beginnings in low-profile pirate radio playing drum and bass back in 1996.

Unlike many other turntablists, JFB also knows when to stop beatjuggling and start dropping bombs - ultimately for him, it's all about making the people dance. Allow him free reign to do his thing with a full range of equipment at his command, and the results will be utterly groundbreaking, but set him loose on two turntables and a decent scratch mixer, and the boy will set about producing results that are just as jaw-dropping.

A prominent THTC solidier, DJ JFB regularly reps THTC to the max, by himself and alongside fellow solidier Beardyman. He can be seen wearing a wide range of THTC clothing but can usually be found wearing the official T-shirt of BattleJam - BattleJam at well, BattleJam!

Skrein

Following a degree in Fine Art, Ed successfully explored his passion for music. His work as an MV has been released on Dented Records. He has collaborated with a variety of artists (Foreign Beggers, Nathan Flutebox Lee, Asian Dub Foundation and Plan B).

He has toured throughout Europe and on the UK festival scene (Glastonbury World Music Stage four consecutive years, Womad)

Benjamin Zephaniah

Award winning poet Benjamin Zephaniah is a long time supporter of THTC.

He was once Britain's most filmed, photographed, and identifiable poet. He has taken his poetry everywhere; changing the dead image that academia and the establishment had given poetry by reaching people who did not read books, those that were keen on books could now witness a book coming to life on the stage. His poetry was political, musical, radical, relevant and seen on TV.

Stamina MC is a prominent THTC solidier and can often be found at Drum and Bass Arena, wearing THTC clothing.

Ball Zee

TWO TIME UK BEATBOX CHAMPION (2011 & 2012) - EMPEROR OF MIC 2012 - GRAND BEATBOX BATTLE CHAMPION 2012.

At just 23 years of age he is the reigning and now double UK Beatbox Champion and is currently touring his solo show across Europe and beyond, stunning crowds from the Cetatea Brasovului fortress in Romania to London's O2 Academy and Twickenham Stadium.

Woody Harrelson

Woodrow Tracy "Woody" Harrelson was born in Midland, Texas and spent his teen years in Lebanon, Ohio (born July 23, 1961). He received degrees in theatre arts and English from Hanover College, Indiana.

Ritchie Ruftone

Ritchie Ruftone from Edinburgh has been djing for 20 years now.

He started in the early 90's playing and running pirate radio station boomerang 100 fm, then he ran healthy fm, too. That ran for over 7 years!

He also co-ran the legendary Hip Hop night called "scratch" for 8 years, which also ran in London. They had a compilation LP out on Rawkus Records which he helped with.

Shlomo (Beatboxer)

UK Loop Station Champion Shlomo is more than just your average beatboxer.

This master of making music with only the mouth is also multi-lingual, speaking Hebrew, Aramaic and Arabic as well as English and is a classically trained percussionist and jazz drummer. One of the most-listened to beatboxers of all time, he has worked with artists such as Martha Wainwright, DJ Yoda, Mad Professor, Mr Scruff, Nitin Sawhney, fellow THTC sodiers Foreign Beggars, beatbox troupe The Vocal Orchestra in addition to curating and occasionally featuring in collaborative concerts called Music Through Unconventional Means.

DJ Switch

Anthony John Culverwell aka DJ Switch aka Tony '3 Times' – so called for his three back-to-back world DJ championship titles, as well as his three consecutive UK supremacy & team titles – began moving records at the tender age of 11 but has since conquered the world over with his scratching superpowers. From Africa to Bulgaria, China to Denmark, with countless diverse gigs across his homeland of England under his award-winning belt, he hasn't looked back.

Goldie

Clifford Joseph Price, better known as Goldie (born 19 September 1965, Walsall, West Midlands, England) is a British electronic music artist, disc jockey, visual artist and actor. He is well known for his innovations in the jungle and drum and bass music genres, having previously gained exposure for his work as a gaffiti artist.

Sinitta is a long time supporter of THTC, modeling one of our remade hemp tops (pictured above), created by 'My Only One' recycling company.

Our most recent project with the american-born musician saw the creation of a new carbon neutral tee for Sinitta's new company Attinis.

Sinitta has re-released her top selling album 'Sinitta!' and with other secret projects underway you can expect to see more of the american-born musician. You may also recognise her from her appearances in various talk shows and of course her role as guest judge in X factor.

Bellatrix and 'The Boxettes'

Having been pushing the female beatbox scene for some years, Bellatrix – current female beatbox world champion - is arguably the first girl to ever really be on a par with the best males on the scene.

Known for her exceptional musicality, Bellatrix is also a highly trained jazz double bass player touring with bands such as Dizraeli and the Small Gods.

In 2008 Bellatrix founded female beatbox group the Boxettes; a distinctly incredible and totally original project – perhaps Bellatrix’s most promising project to date.

Danny Dyer

Danny Dyer is an English actor who has enjoyed a huge amount of success in the last decade with leading roles in films including including The Business,
Severance, Human Traffic and Borstall Boy.

Several years ago Danny was invited by The Observer newspaper to be ethically styled, and did his first shoot for THTC.

A year later he was back again, modeling THTC's Free Burma t-shirt, as well as several other items from our range.

Not your typical eco-warrior, we thought it would be a good look to convert him into one, and he became a bit of a fan of THTC.

The Qemists are a drum and bass band from Brighton, United Kingdom signed to Ninja Tune indie record label based in London. The band consists of bassist Dan Arnold, drummer Leon Harris and guitarist Liam Black.

N.U.M.B - Never Underestimate Musical Belief

Never Underestimate Musical Belief - that's the motto that this 5-piece live by, hence the acronym which has given them the determination to achieve a huge amount since forming in January 2007.

They've already played over 250 gigs, including sets at 02 Wireless at Hyde Park, Glastonbury, Vale Earth Fair, Beachbreak Live, Respect, Fordham, Colston Hall and Windsor Castle. They've been short listed/finalists in talent contests 02 undiscovered and Global Battle of the Bands.

Their first album sold over 5,000 and with their second album, Salt of the Earth recently being released, the sky is truly the limit for these THTC soldiers.

DJ FU

DJ FU is one of the few Drum & Bass DJ's of recent times who has managed to be recognised purely for his talent on the decks.

He has played in world class venues across the globe, for example in London, Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Manchester and many more.

Furthermore he worked together with renowned artists such as Stamina MC, Lowqui and Bearyman (all repping THTC as well) and received nominations for 'Best Newcomer DJ' and 'Best Live Act' at the Drum & Bass Awards.

DJ Blakey

DJ Blakey isn't just another DJ.

The former 2004 DMC champion is well known in the UK underground scene but has also worked with some big names.

He also contributed the first ever mini-mix to Annie Mac's BBC Radio One show and has supported the likes of Jurassic 5, Nas and Jay-Z. When he's not rocking crowds across the UK, DJ Blakey can be found working for FreeStyle Games, helping develop the popular DJ Hero series.

Formed in 2004 from London Sound System legends, to represent the label in England and throughout the World.

Trojan Sound System has already had hugely successful shows as a single entity and with the greatest names in reggae. Trojan Sound System comprises of selectors, Earl Gateshead and Daddy Ad, and vocalists, Superfour and Chucky Banton.  Massive supporters of THTC clothing, the eco clothing pioneers produced 2 hemp t-shirt designs back for Trojan Sound System in 2008, which became firm favorites and have all but sold out.

Martin Powell

Hailed as 'one to watch' by CNN, Martin's poem, “Global Warning”, was chosen to open the CNN + YouTube Debate on Climate Change, broadcast from the United Nations at COP15, where his performance was heard by world leaders.
Martin has since been billed alongside long established poets such as Benjamin Zephaniah and Sir Andrew Motion and has received endorsements from high profile leaders in the fields of ecology and peace.

Octane & DLR

Octane & DLR, the Leeds based producers have brought a brand new sound to the Drum & Bass scene which is probably the most refreshing we have heard in many years. Known for his furious mixing and combining of several different styles of music, DJ A.M.C is a DJ on the rise.

Jehst

William G. Shields, better known as Jehst or a slew of aliases including The High Plains Drifter, Billy Brimstone and Jay Star, is an English rapper and co-founder of hip hop label YNR.

Born in Kent in 1979, Jehst spent his early childhood in Crowborough in Sussex before moving to Huddersfield where he went to Honley High School. After being admitted to the University of Westminster London for a degree in Illustration, Jehst subsequently dropped out due to an offer of a record deal and a opportunity to set up his own label.

Visionary Underground & Dr. Das

Over the past five years Visionary Underground have worked with and remixed for a host of artists including: Asian Dub Foundation ft Sinead O’Connor, Nitin Sawhney, Aref Durvesh (tabla maestro), Chandru (bollywoodstrings.com), Pandit Dinesh (tabla and percussion guru), MC Navigator (of Freestylers fame) & Sonia Mehta (Indian vocalist). “Fired Up” album sees them being joined by Yap (Pink Punk and formerly of One Minute Silence) for track entitled “The Message”. They've recently teamed up with long time collaborator Dr. Das which has only helped to raise their profile.

These long time THTC soldiers continue to rep THTC to the fullest, often wearing THTC clothing at their performances.

Baba Brinkman is a Canadian rap artist, writer, and former tree-planter who worked in the Rocky Mountains every summer for over ten years, personally planting more than one million trees. He is also a scholar with a Masters in Medieval and Renaissance English Literature.

DJ Skitz or Skitz is a British DJ and music producer. He was born in 1970  in Cambridgeshire and started DJing in 1991. He has compiled a number of British Hip Hop compilations and other Hip Hop compilations. Along with Rodney P he produced the first track to ever be played on BBC Radio 1Xtra in 2002, when the station launched, the BBC called Skitz a "hip-hop star".

MC Zani

MC Zani is more than just your average East Ender. The 2008 UK Beatboxing Champion is also lead tutor with Battersea Arts Centre’s pioneering BAC Beatbox Academy project.

He has appeared on TV shows across the world including The Paul O’Grady Show, The Disney Channel, BBC2 and various programs in America, Asia and Europe and was a judge for the 2010 UK Beatboxing Championships. Maseo

Maseo, is a rapper, producer, DJ, and one third of groundbreaking hip hop trio, De La Soul. He is also known as P. A Pasemaster and Plug Three.

Despite originally joining the group as a DJ; he has also proved himself to be a more than capable rapper as well. A little known fact is that it was Maseo who performed the famous laugh in the Gorillaz song ‘Feel Good Inc’ which earned the Gorillaz and De La Soul a Grammy in 2006.

Jimmy Screech

MC, rapper and producer Jimmy Screech is bringing british bashment back to the streets of south London.

With a bit of help from his friend Rodney Smith, aka Roots Manuva, Jimmy is going to bring a happy mix of reggae, rap and hip-hop to the mainstream, delivering a very London take on a sound entrenched in a rich, mixed, musical heritage.

Freq Nasty

Freq Nasty is a Fiji born and New Zealand bred breakbeat pioneer known for his production of some glitch hop, breakbeat, dub, and electronica classics. Widely-acknowledged by critics for consistently breaking boundaries with his music, he has produced popular remixes of pop icons like Fatboy Slim, Kelis and KRS-One.

Freq Nasty is also well-known in the music scene for his social activism. In early 2008, Freq launched Giveback.net, a socially-conscious site featuring music campaigns, whereby musicians donate music in support of non-profit "action campaigns".
