Sinitta snapped leaving X Factor rehearsal wearing a recycled hemp t-shirt-top from THTC

TV personality and X-Factor mentor Sinitta was snapped leaving a recent X-Factor rehearsal wearing a THTC hemp t-shirt, remade by recycling company 'My Only One'.

Sinitta and Gavin Lawson, CEO of eco-activist street wear brand THTC formed a friendship when they met at the 2007 Mobo awards. 

Sinitta has since become an avid fan and an ambassador for the THTC brand, and recently took part in Live Upcycling at Prince Charles ‘Start Garden Party’ where she had two of her 80's album cover outfits 'upcycled' live on stage by award winning 'upcycling' companies Junky Styling and From Somewhere.

N.U.M.B - Never Underestimate Musical Belief

Never Underestimate Musical Belief - that's the motto that this 5-piece live by, hence the acronym which has given them the determination to achieve a huge amount since forming in January 2007.

They've already played over 250 gigs, including sets at 02 Wireless at Hyde Park, Glastonbury, Vale Earth Fair, Beachbreak Live, Respect, Fordham, Colston Hall and Windsor Castle. They've been short listed/finalists in talent contests 02 undiscovered and Global Battle of the Bands.

Their first album sold over 5,000 and with their second album, Salt of the Earth recently being released, the sky is truly the limit for these THTC soldiers.

MC LowQui

An electrifying, freestyling MC...  LowQui focuses his rhymes on topics relating to life experiences.His skills on the mic extend beyond club nights and live arenas and, as such, LowQui´s laid down vocals for studio mixes from DJs ranging from Rohan to DJ Kane. 

He is a great supporter of THTC, and has been since the beginning, and is regularly seen repping our clothing at his gigs. 

DJ JFB

DJ JFB is more than just your average DJ. Also an extremely talented turntabalist and producer, JFB started out like many other DJ's, with his humble beginnings in low-profile pirate radio playing drum and bass back in 1996.

Unlike many other turntablists, JFB also knows when to stop beatjuggling and start dropping bombs - ultimately for him, it's all about making the people dance. Allow him free reign to do his thing with a full range of equipment at his command, and the results will be utterly groundbreaking, but set him loose on two turntables and a decent scratch mixer, and the boy will set about producing results that are just as jaw-dropping.

A prominent THTC solidier, DJ JFB regularly reps THTC to the max, by himself and alongside fellow solidier Beardyman. He can be seen wearing a wide range of THTC clothing but can usually be found wearing the official T-shirt of BattleJam - BattleJam at well, BattleJam!

Clifford Joseph Price, better known as Goldie (born 19 September 1965, Walsall, West Midlands, England) is a British electronic music artist, disc jockey, visual artist and actor. Benjamin Zephaniah

Award winning poet Benjamin Zephaniah is a long time supporter of THTC.

He was once Britain's most filmed, photographed, and identifiable poet. He has taken his poetry everywhere; changing the dead image that academia and the establishment had given poetry by reaching people who did not read books, those that were keen on books could now witness a book coming to life on the stage. His poetry was political, musical, radical, relevant and seen on TV.

Ritchie Ruftone

Ritchie Ruftone from Edinburgh has been djing for 20 years now.

He started in the early 90's playing and running pirate radio station boomerang 100 fm, then he ran healthy fm, too. That ran for over 7 years!

He also co-ran the legendary Hip Hop night called "scratch" for 8 years, which also ran in London. They had a compilation LP out on Rawkus Records which he helped with.

BeatFox

BeatFox started making his own noise from the age of 10, getting on the nerves of his classmates and teachers, alike. Starting off as very basic clicks and throat-based sounds, these then progressed into the complex beats and rhythms of his music today.

At only 21, this beatboxer still has much more to give to the scene. His style draws upon heavy Dub basslines, Hip Hop drums, DnB tempos, animalistic sound effects and, of course, his crazy signature bird chirps. Watch this space.

Danny Dyer

Danny Dyer is an English actor who has enjoyed a huge amount of success in the last decade with leading roles in films including including The Business,
Severance, Human Traffic and Borstall Boy.

Several years ago Danny was invited by The Observer newspaper to be ethically styled, and did his first shoot for THTC.

A year later he was back again, modeling THTC's Free Burma t-shirt, as well as several other items from our range.

Sinitta is a long time supporter of THTC, modeling one of our remade hemp tops (pictured above), created by 'My Only One' recycling company.

Our most recent project with the american-born musician saw the creation of a new carbon neutral tee for Sinitta's new company Attinis.

DJ FU

DJ FU is one of the few Drum & Bass DJ's of recent times who has managed to be recognised purely for his talent on the decks.

He has played in world class venues across the globe, for example in London, Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Manchester and many more.

Furthermore he worked together with renowned artists such as Stamina MC, Lowqui and Bearyman (all repping THTC as well) and received nominations for 'Best Newcomer DJ' and 'Best Live Act' at the Drum & Bass Awards.

UK Loop Station Champion Shlomo is more than just your average beatboxer.

This master of making music with only the mouth is also multi-lingual, speaking Hebrew, Aramaic and Arabic as well as English and is a classically trained percussionist and jazz drummer. One of the most-listened to beatboxers of all time, he has worked with artists such as Martha Wainwright, DJ Yoda, Mad Professor, Mr Scruff, Nitin Sawhney, fellow THTC sodiers Foreign Beggars, beatbox troupe The Vocal Orchestra in addition to curating and occasionally featuring in collaborative concerts called Music Through Unconventional Means.

DJ Blakey

DJ Blakey isn't just another DJ.

The former 2004 DMC champion is well known in the UK underground scene but has also worked with some big names.

He also contributed the first ever mini-mix to Annie Mac's BBC Radio One show and has supported the likes of Jurassic 5, Nas and Jay-Z. When he's not rocking crowds across the UK, DJ Blakey can be found working for FreeStyle Games, helping develop the popular DJ Hero series.

Dizraeli

Dizraeli (pictured wearing the Herse Tag) is a hip hop tour de force and with his band Dizraeli and the Small Gods he's played stages from the Eden Project to the West Holts stage at Glastonbury.

A passionate flag-waver for the cause of low-carbon living, in 2010 Dizraeli travelled to Egypt and back overland, gigging and collaborating with hip hop artists from Kosovo to the West Bank along the way. Having been pushing the female beatbox scene for some years, Bellatrix – current female beatbox world champion - is arguably the first girl to ever really be on a par with the best males on the scene.

Known for her exceptional musicality, Bellatrix is also a highly trained jazz double bass player touring with bands such as Dizraeli and the Small Gods.

In 2008 Bellatrix founded female beatbox group the Boxettes; a distinctly incredible and totally original project – perhaps Bellatrix’s most promising project to date.

Formed in 2004 from London Sound System legends, to represent the label in England and throughout the World.

Trojan Sound System has already had hugely successful shows as a single entity and with the greatest names in reggae. Trojan Sound System comprises of selectors, Earl Gateshead and Daddy Ad, and vocalists, Superfour and Chucky Banton.  Massive supporters of THTC clothing, the eco clothing pioneers produced 2 hemp t-shirt designs back for Trojan Sound System in 2008, which became firm favorites and have all but sold out.

Rodney P is widely regarded as the Godfather of British Hip Hop. Inspiring a whole generation of British emcees and producers by being the first to rap in his authentic London accent and produce a home-grown Hip Hop reggae vibe that is distinctly rooted in the UK.

DJ Skitz album Countryman is considered by Rodney Smith of  Roots Manuva to be "one of the greatest hip-hop records of all time". Along with Rodney P he produced the first track to ever be played on BBC 1Xtra in 2002.

DJ Switch

Anthony John Culverwell aka DJ Switch aka Tony '3 Times' – so called for his three back-to-back world DJ championship titles, as well as his three consecutive UK supremacy & team titles – began moving records at the tender age of 11 but has since conquered the world over with his scratching superpowers. From Africa to Bulgaria, China to Denmark, with countless diverse gigs across his homeland of England under his award-winning belt, he hasn't looked back.

Jehst

William G. Shields, better known as Jehst or a slew of aliases including The High Plains Drifter, Billy Brimstone and Jay Star, is an English rapper and co-founder of hip hop label YNR.

Born in Kent in 1979, Jehst spent his early childhood in Crowborough in Sussex before moving to Huddersfield where he went to Honley High School. After being admitted to the University of Westminster London for a degree in Illustration, Jehst subsequently dropped out due to an offer of a record deal and a opportunity to set up his own label.

Visionary Underground & Dr. Das

Over the past five years Visionary Underground have worked with and remixed for a host of artists including: Asian Dub Foundation ft Sinead O’Connor, Nitin Sawhney, Aref Durvesh (tabla maestro), Chandru (bollywoodstrings.com), Pandit Dinesh (tabla and percussion guru), MC Navigator (of Freestylers fame) & Sonia Mehta (Indian vocalist). “Fired Up” album sees them being joined by Yap (Pink Punk and formerly of One Minute Silence) for track entitled “The Message”. They've recently teamed up with long time collaborator Dr. Das which has only helped to raise their profile.

These long time THTC soldiers continue to rep THTC to the fullest, often wearing THTC clothing at their performances.

Described in the Scottish Daily Record as "Scotlands top rapper" and "anything Dizzee can do, Madhat can do without selling out". DJ Skitz

DJ Skitz or Skitz is a British DJ and music producer. He was born in 1970  in Cambridgeshire and started DJing in 1991. He has compiled a number of British Hip Hop compilations and other Hip Hop compilations. Along with Rodney P he produced the first track to ever be played on BBC Radio 1Xtra in 2002, when the station launched, the BBC called Skitz a "hip-hop star".

MC Zani

MC Zani is more than just your average East Ender. The 2008 UK Beatboxing Champion is also lead tutor with Battersea Arts Centre’s pioneering BAC Beatbox Academy project.

He has appeared on TV shows across the world including The Paul O’Grady Show, The Disney Channel, BBC2 and various programs in America, Asia and Europe and was a judge for the 2010 UK Beatboxing Championships. When he’s not tutoring, MC Zani can be found with fellow Hip Hop activists FULLeBLUNT and fellow THTC soldiers Foreign Beggars.

Thxa Soe, pictured here wearing THTC’s iconic Free Burma t-shirt, is a prolific Burmese Hip-Hop artist who has become a champion of his people by using his music as a way to speak out against Burma’s repressive government and their regime.

Jimmy Screech

MC, rapper and producer Jimmy Screech is bringing british bashment back to the streets of south London.

Octane & DLR, the Leeds based producers have brought a brand new sound to the Drum & Bass scene which is probably the most refreshing we have heard in many years. Inspectah Deck, is an American rapper, producer, and member of the Wu-Tang Clan. He has acquired critical praise for his intricate lyricism, and for his verses on many of the group's most revered songs.

Maseo

Maseo, is a rapper, producer, DJ, and one third of groundbreaking hip hop trio, De La Soul. He is also known as P. A Pasemaster and Plug Three.

Despite originally joining the group as a DJ; he has also proved himself to be a more than capable rapper as well. A little known fact is that it was Maseo who performed the famous laugh in the Gorillaz song ‘Feel Good Inc’ which earned the Gorillaz and De La Soul a Grammy in 2006.

The London Hip Hop crew DefDFires (DDF) consists of core members, NemX, Bill Daggs, Elian Gray & Uncle Jazza.

The crew describe themselves as "a collective manifestation of a milk-depraved generation of misfits brought together through love and appreciation of music and general sense of confusion towards the dysfunctional world around them".

Freq Nasty

Freq Nasty is a Fiji born and New Zealand bred breakbeat pioneer known for his production of some glitch hop, breakbeat, dub, and electronica classics. Widely-acknowledged by critics for consistently breaking boundaries with his music, he has produced popular remixes of pop icons like Fatboy Slim, Kelis and KRS-One.

Freq Nasty is also well-known in the music scene for his social activism. In early 2008, Freq launched Giveback.net, a socially-conscious site featuring music campaigns, whereby musicians donate music in support of non-profit "action campaigns".

Freq Nasty is a THTC solidier in every sense.

Baba Brinkman is a Canadian rap artist, writer, and former tree-planter who worked in the Rocky Mountains every summer for over ten years, personally planting more than one million trees. He is also a scholar with a Masters in Medieval and Renaissance English Literature.

BALL-ZEE Aka Patrick Hirst is the UK beatbox champion 2011. Micky Finn (also spelled Mickey Finn, real name Michael Hearn, born December 3, 1966 in East London) is a British DJ and music producer.
